I’ve been dor­mant as a blog­ger for the past cou­ple of years and it’s time to get back at it. I’ve also cleared out a few old posts that just don’t seem to be where I’m com­ing from at this point.

Along with the relaunch is a renam­ing of the blog to “This Mys­tery,” which comes from Colos­sians 1:

24 Now I rejoice in my suf­fer­ings for your sake, and in my flesh I am fill­ing up what is lack­ing in Christ’s afflic­tions for the sake of his body, that is, the church, 25 of which I became a min­is­ter accord­ing to the stew­ard­ship from God that was given to me for you, to make the word of God fully known, 26 the mys­tery hid­den for ages and gen­er­a­tions but now revealed to his saints. 27 To them God chose to make known how great among the Gen­tiles are the riches of the glory of this mys­tery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

The mys­tery of Christ in the believer was some­thing the Israelite could only see in the future, as some­thing they saw and greeted from afar (Hebrews 11:13) but which we can know in the New Covenant. “This mys­tery is that the Gen­tiles are fel­low heirs, mem­bers of the same body, and par­tak­ers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel” (Eph­esians 3:6 ESV).

My plan is to post what­ever items strike my inter­est in any given day, and that might include links to posts from other blogs, Scrip­ture that impacts me that day, quotes from books I’m read­ing, ser­mon audio and writ­ing. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be pre­sent­ing as blog entries excerpts from a paper I pre­sented at a think tank last July, with updated thoughts and amplification.
